Dear Families,
March is here, and it's going to be a long month for us. There is a lot to accomplish this month, and not many days off. We are completing many assessments and checking if we are on target for the end of the year goals. I've really been seeing so much improvement with everyone, and am pleased with how well everyone is progressing. The second trimester report cards will be coming out in 2 weeks, and you will be able to see specifically how your child is doing!
I'd like to welcome Catherine Di and her family to our class! They moved here from Texas and her first day with us was on Monday (just in time for our class picture). Please say hello to them and introduce yourselves. She has joined our afternoon session. Welcome Catherine!
It looks like the rain will not be over soon, so I'd like to review some of our rainy day procedures:
* AM students: If it is raining outside before 9:00am, then you may come directly to Room 8 through the hallway door. I usually will open the door about 10 minutes before 9:00am if it is raining. If my hallway door is not open, please knock or wait in the hallway with your child. Sometimes I may be in a meeting or somewhere else on campus. Students cannot be in the classroom by themselves. For dismissal at 12:20pm, if it is raining hard then you can pick up your child from the hallway door as well.
* PM students: If you see the kindergarteners playing outside when you arrive, then please line up outside at our regular spot. If you do not see the kindergarteners playing and it is raining, then you may come directly to Room 8 at 10:55am (10:35am on Tuesdays). Please do not drop your child off in the classroom before the start time if I am not in the room. We have big buddies that watch our classes during recess and it is a bit too much for them to handle if both AM and PM kids are together. Thank you for understanding. For dismissal at 3:05pm (2:30pm on Tuesdays), if it is raining hard then you can pick up your child from the hallway door.
Finally, thank you to Connor's family for celebrating his birthday with the class on Monday by donating a gift card to Target! Happy Birthday Connor and Matthew C.!
Mrs. Yu
